Randall Todd Raeon
Randall Todd Raeon
Randall Todd Raeon, born on August 15, 1955 in Jamestown, New York passed away from complications due to Parkinsons Disease on January 5, 2023. For the past two years he lived at SEM Haven, a senior retirement community located in the Cincinnati, Ohio suburb of Milford. In addition to receiving daily nursing care, Randy benefitted from regular comfort care visits provided by Hospice of Cincinnati during the last two months of his life. He was blessed to have a hospice team member with him when he died.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anne (Brunacini), and is survived by older siblings Frank (Cincinnati, Ohio), Dick (Tampa, Florida), and Sue (Ruddy) (Novi, Michigan). In addition, he is survived by his son Nick, his daughter Kristin Little, and by his grandson Austin Brooks and his granddaughter Avery Little.
Randy graduated from Falconer High School in 1973. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1977 from Bowling Green State University (Ohio). Upon graduation he was employed by NCR in Dayton, Ohio before transferring to their Ithaca, New York facility. He later worked as a plastics buyer at and retired from Welch Allyn, a medical equipment manufacturer, in Skaneateles Falls, New York.
Randy played varsity baseball and football at Falconer High School – a place for which he had a special affection. He established the Randall Todd Raeon Freshman Year Scholarship, and later gifted money to FHS to help enlarge and improve the schools’ weight room. Family as well as lifelong best friends Randy and Janice Brown attended the new weight room dedication ceremony in June, 2022. A plaque at the entrance to the weight room honors Randy.
Randy lived with Parkinsons Disease for 22 years. However, he never let this progressively debilitating disease prevent him from living life to its fullest. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, one of his proudest moments was visiting their Spring Training facility in Florida and watching his beloved Yankees play ball. His love of baseball was further demonstrated by the joy he experienced while periodically watching his favorite movie – “Field of Dreams.” Randy made friends easily and participated in a variety of activities on a regular basis at each of the senior communities where he lived after moving to Cincinnati in 2012. In each of them he practiced his faith by regularly attending Catholic masses.
Interment will be at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in Jamestown, in the mausoleum where his parents are buried.
