Oneita E. (Brown) Silliman

She was born June 17, 1936, in Conewango NY the daughter of the late Garold and Doris (Mett) Brown.

Oneita, known to all as Nita, graduated from Randolph Central School in 1954 and worked for Condgon Law Office.

Nita married Jack E. Silliman on February 11, 1956 and moved to Cassadaga where they have since resided in the house they built in 1959. Nita worked for the Cassadaga Elementary School as a cashier for over 25 years until retirement.

She loved to read and for numerous years was a member of the Cassadaga Library, Cassadaga Garden Club & Cassadaga Community Baptist Church. She traveled extensively going to all 50 states and over 15 European countries.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Scott (Tammy) Silliman of Singapore, Ricki Sharp of Sinclairville and Kirk (Rachael) Silliman of Venice FL. Grandchildren: Victoria & Rebecca Silliman, Margaret & Jack Silliman (Axel Box), Garrett Sharp, Shelley (Joe) Reed and children Hayley & Jasper, Lauren Sharp (Thomas Washington) daughter Ryn, Wyatt & Colton Silliman. Siblings: Beatrice (late Donald) Swanson, Althea (Walter) Herrington, Selva (late Randy) Thompson, Clayton (Barbara) Brown and Leone (Janet) Brown.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, a son Rodney Silliman, siblings: Roberta Barber, Arbutus Ortolano, Arminta Taylor, Verlene Green, Oleta Brown and Harlow Brown.

A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, NY.
