Marion L. Gorman

Marion L. Gorman, 91, of Greenhurst, passed away Sunday (Nov, 27, 2022) in Heritage Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

A lifelong area resident, she was born May 17, 1931, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Henry and Genevieve Berquist Lassen.

She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School and was employed by Castle Lighting, Clark Supply, Carnahan’s Men’s Store, and retired from Revco (CV)

Marion was a member of the Injald Lodge 53, Independent Order of Vikings.

In her spare time, she enjoyed to garden, cook, bake, and knit. She loved to cook for her family and hosted picnics every Sunday all summer long

Surviving are three sons: David (Deborah) Gorman and Daniel (Kristine) Gorman, both of Fluvanna, and Dale (Dee) Gorman of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren: Danielle (Robert Polanski) Gorman, Kaitlin (Daniel) McNeill, Haley (Kevin Adamczyk) Gorman and Bryan (Kristen) Gorman, all of Fluvanna, and Blake Gorman of Houston; two step-grandchildren: Kristie Devora Jaramillo and Laurie Devora Foster; a great- grandson: Cash Ryan Gorman; two nephews: Thomas (Lori) Lassen and Dennis (Karen) Erickson; and two nieces: Diane (Paul) Yager and Linda Erickson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald F. Gorman, whom she married Aug. 31, 1949, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, and who died Dec. 27, 2012; a brother, Merle Lassen; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Lassen and Janice Morrison; a grandson, David Gorman; and her best friend: Yvone Lochmaier.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society or the Fluvanna Fire Department.
