Rose Marie Vaughn, 84, of Falconer passed away Friday (Oct. 28, 2022) in the Star Hospice House, Lakewood, N.Y., after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 28, 1938, in Port Allegany, Pa., the daughter of the late Philip and Jennie Tompkins Vaughn.

Rose was employed by the former Jamestown Sterling for 22 years, and prior to retirement was employed by WCA Hospital, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of the Wheeler Hill United Methodist Church, Calvary Church of God in Greensboro, N.C., and the Gospel Road Runners Singing Group. She was currently attending Koinania Christian Fellow-ship Church.

Rose was an avid self taught guitar player and singer. She ministered through her music in church, prisons, and family events and brought many to know God. Family was her life, only second to God, and she enjoyed bringing family and friends together and sharing her music. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Surviving are six children: Barbara Juul, Brenda (Doug) Rissel, Peggy (Lisa) Rothwell, Rick (Janet) Davis Jr., Lynn (Darren) Bowder and Shirley Adams; a son-in-law, Harry Bragg; 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harold “Pete” Vaughn and Wayne Vaughn; a sister, Bonnie Benner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Bragg; two sons: Leslie Lee Brown and Bill Brown; three sisters: Eleanor Green, Shirley Hicks and Nina Brothers; two brothers: Edward Vaughn and Walter Vaughn; a daughter-in-law, Shelly Davis; and a grandson, Benjamin Brown.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov.1, 2022, in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Lemon will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.

Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, in the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday.
