Margarete ‘‘Greta’’ Anna Peterson

Margarete (Greta) Anna Peterson, 82, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Nuremburg, Germany. As a young woman she emigrated to Jamestown, N.Y., where she acquired citizenship.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Kenneth Peterson.

Greta’s favorite activity was frequenting casinos to play the slot machines. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, taking long rides on the trike, and crocheting gifts. At family gatherings, she was well known for her delicious German potato salad.

She was predeceased by her brother. Hans Nadler; and sister, Gertrud Kiermeier (Nadler).

Mother of Rosa Town, Okeechobee, Fla., Robert Erickson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and James Erickson, Gainesville, Va.; step-daughters: Kimberly (Robert) Schroder and Kellie Bielata, Tampa, Fla. She was predeceased by her son, Roy Erickson.

Grandmother of George Town, Crystal Walker, Reno and Patrick Erickson, Sierra Erickson, Danielle Barlow, Renee Ansley, Rochelle England, Jarrett and Justin Bielata.

Predeceased by her granddaughters: Heather Town and Mckenzie Paulsen.

She will be remembered by many great-grandchildren.

To honor Greta’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. We invite you to privately celebrate Greta’s memory in your own ways. We know that she will be with us all in spirit.
