Elaine Ciancio

She was born May 4, 1931, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Frank and Genevieve “Jenny” (Andalora) Giunta.

She worked as the receptionist at Salon 1 in Jamestown, N.Y. She previously worked as a sales clerk at Bigelow’s Department Store and was a teachers aide at St. James Roman Catholic School in Jamestown.

Elaine had a great love for music. She devoted her whole life to her faith and her family. She was a life member of St. James Roman Catholic Church and was also a member of the choir.

Her husband, Anthony J. Ciancio, whom she married July 11, 1953, in Jamestown, passed away in 1975.

She is survived by her children: Karen (John) Laird of Arcade, Kathleen Ciancio of Jamestown, and Christine (Charles) Cina of Williamsville; her brother, Mike (Debbie) Giunta of Jamestown; nine grandchildren: Kristy Carlson, Tony Montini, Brittany Montini, Jennifer Schultz, Michelle Tamol, Anthony Laird, Michael Ferrentino, Bryan Ferrentino and Alyssa Cina along with their spouses; also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Anne Ferrentino; and her siblings: Robert Giunta, Jean Giunta and Miriam Barber.

Friends may call Saturday, Sept.10, 2022, at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 27 Allen St., Jamestown, NY 14701 from 10-11a.m., where a Memorial Mass will follow at 11a.m. Interment will be held in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Jamestown.

Memorials may be made to the Jamestown Municipal Band.
