DURHAM, N.C. — Joyce S. Migliore, 90, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Logan County, WVa., the daughter of the late Parry Boyd Steele Sr. and Ivory Naomi Steele. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Frank” A. Migliore Sr.; and brothers: Parry Boyd Steele Jr. and Joseph Wilbur Steele.
Mrs. Migliore enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, building puzzles or as she termed it “playing puzzles.” In earlier years, she loved singing in the First Baptist Church choir, it became her second family. Joyce was a care giver her entire life from being a registered nurse at Cincinnati VA Hospital in Ohio then Buffalo VA Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., and finally retiring from WCA/UPMC Chautauqua to care for her husband in his later years. She also enjoyed traveling after she retired.
Mrs. Migliore is survived by her sons: Francis “Frank” Migliore Jr. and wife Linnea, of Durham, N.C., and Kerry Migliore of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter, Joyce Marucci of Falconer, N.Y.; sisters: Wilma Lee Avis of Charleston, WVa., Ama Ree Flowers of Holden, WVa,; grandchildren: Antonio “Tony” James Migliore of Stokesdale, N.C., Nicholas “Nick” Stephen Migliore of Stokesdale, N.C.; grandchildren: Tyler Gray of Westminster, Colo., Jessica A. Stearns and husband, Kevin of Atlanta, Ga,, Jerrica L. Daniels and husband, Jeffrey of Camden, N.J, and James “JT” A. Marucci of Falconer, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren: Mason Stearns of Atlanta, Ga., Leo Stearns of Atlanta, Ga.. And Brody Marucci, Falconer, N.Y.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Jamestown, N.Y. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Chautauqua County, Pick of the Litter of Falconer or to a charity of one’s choice.
