MAYVILLE- Barry D. Jacobson, 54, of Mayville, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on July 26, 2022.

He was born on Nov. 8, 1967, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the H. Timothy Jacobson and the late Constance E. Brown Milliman.

Barry was a lifelong resident of Mayville and graduated from Mayville Central School in 1985. He worked in the furniture manufacturing industry for many years, with the majority of that time being at Ethan Allen.

Barry was known for his free spirit, with a passion for art, music and reading. He loved to share his wealth of knowledge, and his love of storytelling with his family and friends. He was a huge Eddie Van Halen fan and lived by his motto “To hell with the rules, if it sounds right, then it is.” He enjoyed the company of his two cats, Lilo and Lyla.

His love for nature often took him to his happy place, sitting on the shore of Chautauqua Lake. Above all else, he loved his “tribe” (family) and the time he spent with them.
