Gregory C. DePietro

Gregory C. DePietro

On the morning of May 12, Gregory C. DePietro, 32, left the loving circle of his family, to be welcomed into Christ’s arms for eternity. His unexpected passing came in the Emergency Department of Orlando Regional Medical Center. Greg was born in Jamestown, NY on June 11, 1989, to Derek and Louann DePietro, who survive him.

Gregory attended Falconer Central Schools graduating in 2007. Early work included employment at Jamestown Electroplating and several years in wholesale parts for Shults Auto Group. After moving to Florida in 2016, Greg worked as a Service Advisor for Auto Nation Acura in Sanford and at Sanford Harley Davidson where he enjoyed being their Speed & Chrome Consultant. In February of 2018, he graduated from the Seminole State Fire Academy where he excelled, graduating first in his class. Later that year, he fulfilled his dream, accepting appointment as a firefighter/EMT for Seminole County Fire Department. From the first day on the job, Greg’s goal was to gain enough knowledge and skill to earn a place in SCFD’s elite Special Hazards and Operations Team (S.H.O.T.). After only 2 1/2 years on the job, he was honored to successfully navigate the challenging tryout process and be appointed to this team.

Gregory had a passion for the outdoors — from skateboarding in his youth to hunting, boating and riding his much-loved Harleys. He had a gift for all things mechanical — he could fabricate, repair or rebuild most anything. Greg had an ability to speak with people from every background, age or walk of life and make a connection. His sincere and honest manner reflected his big heart. He truly appreciated each and every person whose path he crossed.

The loss of Greg is felt deeply by his parents, of Titusville, FL, and his brother Nicholas, also of Florida. He is mourned by his Godparents Daniel and Maureen DePietro, Englewood, FL and grandparents James and Mary Louise Scully of Jamestown, NY. He will be forever missed by aunts and uncles: James Scully II (Kimberly), Azusa, CA; Michelle McNamara (George), Hernando Beach, FL; Laureen Scully, Erie, PA and R. Scott DePietro, Brunswick, GA.

Gregory’s beloved cousins will carry his memory always- Matthew (Alexis), Brandon and Ryan DePietro, Scott (Rachel) DePietro; Nicole (Bobby) Springer, Garrett and Caleigh DePietro. Greg held close to his heart a beloved group of friends that he thought of as family. He cherished the times spent together and the memories they made.

Our hearts are comforted by knowing that Gregory’s family members who passed before him welcomed him into eternal peace: Grandparents Ray and Sally DePietro and Aunt Laurie DePietro.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Darrell Duffy at Saint James Church, Allen Street Ext., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. To participate in Gregory’s mass online please access it through- www.stjamesparishjamest own.com
