Lloyd James White

Lloyd James White passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of March 4, 2022, at the age of 94, in Jamestown, N.Y. He was born to Lloyd J. and Ferne Grace White in Walnut, Ill., on Sept 20, 1927. He was the oldest of three siblings.
Lloyd Jr. served in the U.S. Navy for two years during the end of World War II. From 1951-60 Lloyd and his wife, Ellen were missionaries in Japan through TEAM.
Lloyd had lived in Jamestown, for the past 15 years where he attended St Luke’s Episcopal Church and volunteered as a VA chaplain.
He moved to Jamestown from Washington State where he had resided for over three decades. In Washington, he worked various jobs including as a nursing home administrator, apartment manager, fiscal department at the Veteran’s Administration medical center, and a probation officer.
Prior to living in Washington, Lloyd lived in California, where he promoted Billy Graham evangelical films, was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, taught motivational classes to prison inmates, was a youth pastor, school teacher, and business man.
He is survived by a sister; his five children; two stepchildren; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grand children.
Lloyd is remembered by those who knew him as a man with a great passion for life and devout love and service first to the Loving YHVH God, then to family, friends and others.
Excerpts from one of Lloyd’s original Gospel tracts titled Our Greatest Need: If our greatest personal need had been for an Anthropologist, an Astronomer, an Archaeologist, a Biologist, a Doctor, a Geologist, a Guru, a lawyer, a Musician, a Nutritionist, a Philosopher, a Politician, a Psychic, a Psychologist, a Scientist, a Sociologist, a Teacher, a Theologian…then GOD would have sent us one.
But our greatest personal need was none of these. It was the forgiveness of our sins because the Bible teaches that all of us have fallen short of GOD’s holy standard. Thus, GOD sent us a SAVIOR, His only Son, Jesus the Messiah/Christ, who voluntarily gave His life on a cross as a sacrifice for your sins and mine. “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Whoopee!!!
During 1987, the U.S.A. celebrated the Bi-Centennial of the Constitution – a unique document guaranteeing certain basic freedoms. Jesus is GOD’s ‘Constitutional Guarantee’ that everyone who turns to HIM in repentance & faith will receive certain basic gifts – forgiveness, salvation, & a future existence free from all sorrow, pain, suffering, and death. WOW!! Please ask Jesus, the SAVIOR to meet your deepest needs. Pray right now. Confess your sins to GOD, and accept Jesus into your life. He will send His Spirit to be your daily guide all through your life on earth. Copyright 1983, Lloyd J. White, Jr.
