Stewart “Stub” King Jr.

Stewart “Stub” King Jr. 83, of 524 Hunt Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, surrounded by his family in his home.

He was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Lottsville, Pa., a son of the late Stewart King and Alice Sherman King Saxton.

He was a graduate of Youngsville High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-62.

Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was employed by Kings Heating as a sheet metal worker.

He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Celoron Moose Lodge, Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, AM-VETS of Sugar Grove and Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion.

Surviving is his wife, Susan Peterson King, whom he married June 6, 1959; two daughters: Deborah (John) Lloyd of Dublin, Calif., and Kellie (James) Work of Celoron; grandchildren: Melyssa (John) Parmenter of San Diego, Calif., Alex Lloyd of Bozeman Mont., Jacque Lloyd of Oahu, Hawaii, Jacob Work of Jamestown, Tiffany Work of Russell, Pa,, Crystal Work of Russell, Pa., and Jaydon Work of Celoron; two siblings: Roland “Bud” King of Jamestown, and Beverly Nelson of Corry Pa.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy King; and a sister, Betty Sanborn.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Visitation will not be observed.
