Kenneth R. ”Dick” Johnson was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Kenneth L. and Helen Johnson.

He attended Jamestown High School graduating in 1949. He met Annie Compton in high school, and they married in 1950.

Ken worked in the house building trade for several years before becoming the City of Jamestown Tax Assessor where he worked for 27 years.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie of 67 years; his sister, Nancy Johnson Galbraith; brother-in-law, Jim Galbraith; his brother, Howard; his brother, Paul; and daughter-in-law, Lynn Johnson.

Ken and Annie had five children: Keith, spouse Becky, Valrico Fla., Tim, Ruskin Fla., Wayne, Jamestown N.Y., Larry, Jamestown N.Y., Tina, spouse Vin Smith, Key West Fla. Five grandchildren: Tricia, spouse, Mark Proefrock, West Palm Beach Fla.., Aaron Johnson. Jamestown N.Y., Kate, spouse, Luke Markham, Lakeland Fla., Lindsey, spouse, JJ Martinez, Wesley Chapel, Fla., Ben Johnson, Jamestown N.Y. Great-grandchildren: Kane, Mason, Carter, Logan, Grayson, Miles and Reid. Nieces: Kate, Cyndi, and Leslie. Sister-in-law, Florence Johnson, Jamestown N.Y.

Kenny was in the NY State National Guard for 20 years retiring at the rank of sargent, involved with the Boy Scouts as a troop leader while his sons were in the scouts.

He was an avid member of the Vikings Ingjald Lodge 65 for over 55 years volunteering in many facets and serving as chief. He was a member of Camp Street United Methodist church, singing in the choir and serving in various other areas.

He loved hunting, fishing with his Vikings buddies and his family, his boats, and dancing with Annie.

Kenny will truly be missed by his family and friends.
