Joseph Zeitler

Joe will be remembered as a devoted Christian. He shared the Gospel everywhere he went, at all times. As a member of the Gideons, Joe passed out 449 bibles in 2021.

He was raised in Panama, NY and graduated from Panama Central School. At the age of 18, Joe established a dairy farm, where he worked for several years.

A natural born salesman, as he was a great talker and possessed an engaging personality and a great sense of humor. He sold both building materials and overhead garage doors for many years in the region.

He was a longtime member of Sherman Baptist Church and more recently the Community Church of Jamestown. He served as Deacon both churches. Joe also preached on occasion, and with his beautiful tenor voice he sang in the church choirs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Shirley Davis-Zeitler of Jamestown; his children: Richard A. Zeitler of Sherman and Paul J. (Deborah) Zeitler of Nesquehoning, PA; Sharon (Sam) Arcadipane of Gerry NY, Karen (Scott) Sellars of Macocana, IA, Darlene (Gary) Dossey of Jamestown, NY, and LeRoy (Margaret) Johnson of Gardner, IL; grandchildren: Taylor (Travis) Marzka of Littlefield, TX, Austin (Chloe) Zeitler of Slippery Rock, PA, Rebecca, Paul Michael and Nicholas Zeitler of Nesquehoning, PA; great-grandchildren: Brayden Allen Marzka and Kirk Allen Zeitler; also Kathleen “Sis” (Larry) Spinks, of Sherman, NY; a nephew, Philip Spinks, of Las Vegas, NV and a niece, Amy Graham of Randolph, NY, and numerous additional other grandchildren, great grandchildren and 4 great-nieces.

Joe is predeceased by his first wife of 55 years, Annora Wood Zeitler.

Memorial Services will be announced at a later date. Interment will be at Sherman Cemetery. Services will be handled by the Spitzer Funeral Home.
