In Sicily James attended Fazzio Mechanic School for mechanics. Additionally, James attended Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, N.Y., earning an associates in science and LaSalle School of Law. James married the love of his life, RoseMarie Conti on Jan. 26, 1963.

James was a supervisor at Chautauqua County Highway DPW until his retirement.
