Suzanne L. Peterson

She was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Muriel Merchant Wilcox.

Suzanne was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1959 graduate of WCA School of Nursing.

Before retiring in December of 2003, she was employed as a registered nurse at Lutheran Social Services for 22 years.

She was a member of Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ, where she enjoyed many church activities.

Suzanne enjoyed reading, baking, crocheting, knitting, shopping, time with friends and family, going to dinner and dancing with her husband, Stanley and loved dogs. She was proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their school activities, loved baking and spending time with them.

Suzanne is survived by her husband of 61 years, Stanley B. Peterson, whom she married June 11, 1960; a son, Scott (Caroleen) Peterson; a daughter, Susan (Steve) Chipman; and two grandchildren: Christian and Courtnee Peterson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheryl Peterson; and and two sisters: Carol Paulus and Audrey Davies.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Herdzik, pastor of New Beginnings Baptist Church will officiate.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home, two hours prior to the service on Tuesday.

In accordance with New York State mandates, masks are required regardless of vaccination status while in the funeral home.
