Louis J. “Lou” Anderson

Louis J. "Lou" Anderson, 77, of 3700 N. Main Street, Ext., passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua following a brief illness.

He was born May 13, 1944, in Jamestown, a son of the late Ray and Maxine Freeman Anderson.

He attended Falconer schools through 11th grade and graduated from Cassadaga Central School in 1963.

He owned and operated Ideal Coatings for many years.

Lou was an avid Mopar muscle car enthusiast who enjoyed attending car shows and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA).

Above everything else, Lou was a family man who deeply loved his wife, chilren and grandchildren.

Surviving are two children: Rodney (Mary Jane) Anderson of Jamestown and Rhonda (Jamie) Simmons of Jamestown; grandchildren: Jenna (Brandon Tweedie) Anderson of Long Island, N.Y., Julia (Brandon) Heitzenrater of Kennedy, Jarod (Olivia Adam) Anderson of Jamestown, Nicole (Matt Bittler) Simmons of Jamestown and Emily (Cody) McAdoo of Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Gaeta Anderson, whom he married Aug. 8, 1964, and who died Jan. 13, 2009; and five siblings: Raymond, Carolyn, Donald, Tom and Carl.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
