Katherine Louise Belvin (Wood)

After a long, difficult battle with cancer, Katherine Louise Belvin (Wood) 58, of Williamsburg, Va., has passed away peacefully on Nov. 30, 2021. while being surrounded by loved ones.

Kathy was born on Nov. 4, 1963, in Jamestown, N.Y., and was the youngest child of Clair and Gladys Wood.

Kathy graduated from Jamestown High School. Kathy decided to relocate several years later to Williamsburg, Va., where she has resided ever since. Kathy was one of the strongest, determined, loving, witty, supportive, funny, and loyal people you would know. Kathy was also the most dedicated wife and mother and we were blessed to have her as the head of the family. Kathy married Glen Belvin on Dec. 5, 1991, and during their 30 years they raised three daughters: Nicole Hackett, Jessica Quesenberry and JoAnne Shields. Kathy was a fiercely dedicated mom raising all three of them to go on to accomplish great things. Kathy also loved and adored her six grandchildren: Skylar Hackett, Graysen Hackett, Ava Quesenberry, AJ Shields, Aurora Shields and Kennedy Shields.

Kathy was a hard working mother and wife who gave all she could to her family. Family came first and was above all else, a value Kathy also instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill.

Kathy is survived by her husband; her children and grandchildren listed above. Kathy is also survived by her sisters: Susan Colman and Beth Ferrari, both from Jamestown, N.Y., and both currently reside in Williamsburg, Va. As well as many nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Clair Wood, Danny Wood, David Wood, all from Jamestown, N.Y., and Jackie Ropps from Randolph. There will be a celebration of life service held at Nelsen Funeral Home at 3785 Strawberry Plains Road Williamsburg, Va. The celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Dec. , 2021 at 2 p.m., with a reception immediately following at 2865 Chicka-hominy Road Toano, VA 23168.The family requests all flowers and notes are sent to Nelsen Funeral Home.’
