Gary L. Viola
Gary L. Viola, 77, of Frewsburg, N.Y., formerly of Fair Haven, Micj., passed away Tuesday (Nov. 9, 2021) at UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born Aug.11, 1944, in Standish, Mich., the son of Charluss and Zelda Fedder Viola.
Gary was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1962 to 1966.
He was a selfemployed wood craftsman.
Gary was a member of Mt. Zion Assembly Church and enjoyed wood crafting, gardening, and homesteading.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Buchanan Viola, whom he married Sept. 22,1973; eight children: Bethany Chandler, Aaron (Angela) Viola, Benjamin (Audrey) Viola, Nathanael (Shelley) Viola, Rachel (Steve) Holcomb, Joshua (Sarah) Viola, Joanna (Eyob) Viola and Rebekah Viola; six grandchildren: Avery (Jesse) Oakes, Isaiah, Seth, Ciana, Magnolia and Ruth; a great-grandson, Levi; and two brothers: Charles “Mickey” Viola and Gene Viola.
He was predeceased by his son, Ethan D. Viola on Aug. 8, 2021.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Gary’s son, pastor Aaron Viola of Mt. Zion Assembly Church will officiate. Burial will be in Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
