Earl Raymond Sturgis
Earl Raymond Sturgis, 95, passed away Thursday (Oct. 28, 2021) in the Lutheran Home and Rehab, Jamestown. He was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Warren, Pa.., the son of the late Stanley Fred and Lila Rose (Tanner) Sturgis.
Earl was a graduate of Warren Area High School. A veteran of the U.S Navy, Mr. Sturgis served his country proudly from Oct. 28, 1944 until being honorably discharged on Aug. 27, 1951.
He was selfemployed for many years, having owned and operated Earls Auto Repair Shop on Second Street in the City of Jamestown, later moving the business to the town of Busti as Earls Garage. Earl loved NASCAR, dancing, roller skating ad animals.
He is survived by a daughter; Susan (Stanley) Martinelli of Jamestown,; a son, Thomas Sturgis of Bullhead, City, Ariz.; and two grandsons: Thomas Sturgis Jr. and Gian Martinelli.
Besides his parents, he was preceded death by his spouse, Ruth M. (Davis) on Aug, 21, 2019; and a sister, Opal Sturgis. .
Burial and graveside services were held at the convenience of the family.
