Charles ‘‘Chuck’’ Moore

Charles ”Chuck” Moore, formerly of Gerry, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland, Texas. Interment will follow with full military honors in St. Boniface Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City, Texas.

Chuck was born on Nov. 26, 1946, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of Charles Warren Moore and Eleanor Christine Socha.

Chuck went directly from Jamestown High School to the U.S. Army, where he served until 1967. He then entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served until retirement in March of 1990.

Chuck began working for the Texas Workforce Commission following a short period working with the Salvation Army. Chuck retired from The Workforce Commission in 2018.

Chuck was a member of the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department, Gerry, N.Y. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Scotland, Texas.

Chuck married Cynthia Suzanne Westerdahl on May 17, 1965 and they had three children. Chuck married Geraldine Lorraine Campbell on Dec. 31, 1994, who preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2016. Chuck was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Anne Moore; and his brother, Thomas Patrick Moore.

Chuck is survived by his four children: Jacqueline (Paul) Rodgers, Tyler, Texas. James (Kelly Crane) Moore, Greece, N.Y., Jonathan (Mary) Moore, Sinclairville, N.Y., and Bailey Moore, Scotland, Texas; two stepchildren: Bobby Lewis and Angel (Don) Cage; two sisters: Vicki (Gene) Swan and Tina Fiore; and a brother, Robert Moore; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
