Wayne V. Carlson

Wayne V. Carlson, 80, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 9:38 p.m., Sunday, Oct.r 10, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua.

An area resident for most of his life, he was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Clymer, N.Y., a son of the late Rudolph and Edith Carlson Carlson.

Before his retirement he was employed by the former Chautauqua Hardware Corporation, as a polisher for over 30 years.

He will be remembered as a very generous and giving man. During the sum-mer months he worked a second job painting houses and enjoyed taking care of his own home.

Surviving are his children: Janice (Joe) Kibbe, and Marcy (Rod) Austin, both of Jamestown, and Victoria “Vicki” Grayson of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two step-daughters: Joanne (Todd) Bacon, Joan (Dwayne) Gibson; several step-grand children; and step great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, Richard Carlson.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley D. Carlson who died Aug. 2, 2019; a granddaughter, Katherine Bacon; a great-granddaughter, Briella Olsen; two brothers: Kenneth Carlson and LaVerne “Guy” Carlson, two sisters: Leona and Vivian; and his favorite pet cat, Monique (fat fat).

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
