Mary Lou Carlson

She was born in Erie on January 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Christ and Margaret Howard Petersen. Mary Lou resided at the home of her daughter and son-in-law’s for seven years until the passing of her husband, Erland. After Erland’s passing in 2017. She enjoyed watching all the wildlife out her back door and especially loved playing cards with her youngest granddaughters.

Mary Lou was a graduate of East High School.

She spent the majority of her life raising her children. She was employed by Jamestown School System as a teacher’s aide. Mary Lou was a member of First Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erland A. Carlson, two brothers, John M. and Richard C. Petersen and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Petersen. Mary Lou is survived by a daughter, Catherine (Crandall) Nyweide, a son, David Carlson and his fiance’ Janet, and four grand-daughters, Cassandra, Claire, Samantha and Ava.

Services are private and held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
