Marlayne R. “Becky” Bergman, 84, of Florida, formerly of Brookside Estates, Jamestown, passed away Sept. 13, 2021, in Braden River Rehabilitation, Bradenton, Fla.
She was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Helge F. and Marion Chadwick Peterson.
Becky was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years, was employed by the former Bigelow’s Department Store and Thule Lodge 127.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Falconer and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sun City, Fla. Becky was a member of the Vasa Order of American Thule Lodge 127 and served as past chairman, past district master of NYS, past grand lodge deputy of NYS and was a member of the Vasa Order of America Grand Lodge. She was also a member of Women of the Moose Lodge 87and Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Bergman; a sister, Constance Mary; and a brother, Douglas R. Peter-son.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Jamestown.
