Marjorie A. Daniels

Marjorie A. Daniels, 90, of Meadville, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Busti, N.Y., a daughter of Harry and Ruth Whiting Anderson. She married Robert C. Daniels July 9, 1955. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2018.

Marjorie was a 1952 graduate of Fredonia State University with a bachelors degree in education and a 1978 graduate of Akron University with a masters degree in education.

She began her teaching career in Bemus Point, N.Y., and taught elementary school in Hudson, Ohio for 32 years. After retiring, she taught in the education department of Akron University for six years.

A member of Stone United Methodist Church, Marjorie enjoyed reading, baking, traveling with her husband and wintering in Gulf Shores, AL. She was a lifelong learner and teacher, a faithful friend, a devoted wife and mother and an extraordinary grandmother. Until her death, she remained a supportive engaged presence in the life of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons: Neil Daniels of Jamestown, N.Y., and Matthew Daniels (Debbie) of Palmer, Ill.; one daughter, Sarah Roncolato (David) of Meadville; four grandchildren: Carolyn Roncolato (Michael Allgeier) of Henrietta, NY, Leanne Roncolato (Alex Roomets) of Lancaster, Pa., Daniel Roncolato (Kylie) of South Vienna, Ohio, and Jonathan Roncolato of Nashville, Tenn.; six great-grandsons: Brody, Buckley, and Briggs of South Vienna, Ohio, Benjamin and Carter of Henrietta, N.Y., and Kairo of Lancaster, Pa.; one sister, Lora Proctor (Donald) of Frewsburg, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Lawson; and three brothers: Richard, Gale and Harry Anderson Jr.

A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be Saturday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main St., Meadville, Pa., with the Rev. Jane Ellen Nickell officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeview, NY.
