Kathleen E. Murray

Kathleen E. Murray

Kathleen E. Murray, 80, of Falconer, N.Y., passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, at UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born Nov. 9, 1940, in Jamestown, to the late Floyd and Elsie Peterson Miller.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bryan D. Murray, whom she married April 11, 1986; a son, Michael McClellan of Jamestown; stepdaughter, Pandora Murray of Sherman; and four grandchildren. Also surviving are two nieces: Cindy (David) Gollnitz and Sandy Sweet, both of Jamestown; and two nephews: Daniel Miller of Jamestown, and Brian (Barbara) Miller of Pennsylvania.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald F. Miller and James O. Miller; and two stepdaughters: Bryanna Murray and Candes Murray Confere.

Kathy loved the years of senior trips on the bus traveling with Bryan and making friends with her awesome “gift of gab”. She could talk for hours sharing memories that the rest of the family had long forgotten. She prayed daily for those she loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Kathy loved playing bingo, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and laughing. She also enjoyed sitting down with her great-nephew, Lynn Terry Jr. exploring family genealogy. She was the joker of the family and made it known she was the “matriarch”.

We thank sincerely and appreciate the love and care she received from Hospice nurses: Justine, Charlie and Julie, along with others that took special care of Kathy these last months.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Pratt will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday in the funeral home prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750 or the Celoron American Legion, 26 Jackson Ave., Jamestown, NY 14701 or the Boy Scouts of America, 50 Hough Hill Road, Falconer, NY 14733.
