Edward F. Kutschke

Edward F. Kutschke, 79, of 9 Crane St., Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, in his home.

Coming to the United States with his family in 1951, he was born Oct. 19, 1942, in Sierakowitz, Germany, a son of the late Willy and Mathilde Maulischitzki Kutschke.

Edward was a 1962 graduate of Eisenhower High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming in 1971.

In earlier years, he worked for the former Blackstone Corporation and later worked in the construction of several pipelines.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served for two years.

He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He will be remembered as one who enjoyed skiing, traveling, and loved spending time having coffee with his friends. He actually skied for the U.S. Army where he placed 3rd in the slalom competition.

Surviving are his three brothers: Henry (Katy) Kutschke of Sugar Grove, Pa., Baldur (Rose) Kutschke of Frewsburg, N.Y., and Hubert (Anna) Kutschke of Busti, N.Y.; his sister-in-law, Piroska Kutschke of Busti; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Siegfried Kutschke, who died Jan. 19, 2017.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Cygan, parochial vicar of St. James Catholic Church will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
