Susan W. Lamb

Susan W. Lamb, 84, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 7:49 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Maynard White and the late Elva Myrtle Evelyn Johnson White Abrahamson.

Sue was a graduate of Frewsburg Central School and attended Jamestown Business College.

Before her retirement, she had worked for several local businesses including, Brand Names, Proto Tool Company, WWSE Radio Station and was also a waitress at the Viking Lodge.

Sue was very active in local bowling leagues and was founder and chairperson of the annual Framed in Pink Bowling Over Breast Cancer Tournament. She was inducted into the Jamestown Area Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2007. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge 2145 and a former member of the Viking Lodge and the Moose Lodge.

Sue was one who loved life and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known as “Mama Sue” to many people. She also loved golfing, bowling, campfires, and rooting for the Buffalo Bills.

She was a very social person and being with her many friends meant the world to her. She loved being in her pool, enjoying the sunshine and having a cold bud light on her deck.

Surviving are her four daughters: Patricia (Brent) Reed, Julie (David) Abramson, Kristine (Howard) Moore and Marcia (Thomas) Derby, all of Jamestown; eight grandchildren: Megan Ludwiczak, Brooke (Greg) Mareri, Corin Derby, Abbie Derby, all of Jamestown, Donald (Brittany) Abramson of Gerry, NY, Jason Moore of Floridam Darren (Karissa) Moore of Florida, and Aaron Abramson of Tennessee; and her three great-grandchildren: Jameson and Sullivan Abramson of Gerry, and Harlan Abramson of Tennessee.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Lamb, whom she married Augu. 9, 1958, and who died Nov. 29, 2002; a brother, Richard White; and a sister, Barbara White.

The funeral will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg, N.Y.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service.
