Priscilla May Robertson Cook, 77, of Victor, N.Y. formerly of Panama, N.Y., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.
May was born March 1, 1944, in Evansville, Ind. One of 12 children and youngest daughter of James William Robertson and Clara McCormick Robert-son.
She graduated in 1962 from Benjamin Bosse High School in Evansville, Ind., and married Leo Vernon Cook on May 28, 1963, in Chevy Chase, Md. In 1964 the couple moved from Washington, D.C. to Panama, N.Y., where they remained until 2007, when she and Leo moved to Victor, N.Y.
While living in Washington, D.C. area, May worked as a stenographer for the Inspector General of the Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. She held several secretarial positions within Chautauqua County Government in Mayville, N.Y. including: the Probation department, the District Attorney’s Office, Department of Social Services, Personnel Department, Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Management and Fire Coordinator and New York State Family Court. She retired in 1999.
She was a life member and past president of the Panama Fire Department Auxiliary, life member and past president of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Mayville and served as secretary and treasurer for the Panama Greenwood Cemetery.
Priscilla is survived by her husband of over 50 years, her only daughter, Heather Jean Cook-Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by eight brothers and two sisters. She has one surviving sister, Darlene Davis.
Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Pa-nama, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.
