Kenneth William ‘‘Bill’’ Burdick

LAKE ANN, Mich. — Kenneth William ”Bill” Burdick, 72, of Lake Ann, Mich., formerly of Mayville, passed away on July 28, 2021 at his home.

He was born June 17, 1949, in Westfield, N.Y., the son of the late Kenneth R. and Teresa M. Lahey Burdick.

Bill was a 1967 graduate of Chautauqua Central School. After high school he enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps. where he proudly served his country from 1967-70, including a tour in Vietnam.

Bill worked most of his adult life in the oil fields as a directional driller. He owned his own business Directional Drilling Consultants in Traverse City, Mich., for several years, be-fore selling the business and working for new owners. Bill retired a few years ago due to declining health.

He loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. He enjoyed fishing when he had the time and was an avid baseball fan. He also loved racing, traveling to Daytona Beach for many years as well as sponsoring a car for Lucas Oil.

Bill is survived by his son, Christopher R. (Scooter) Burdick, four grandchildren: Chloe, Carlee, Levi and Laci Burdick; his two brothers: Jeff (Barbara) Burdick of Houston Texas, and Ron (Maura) Burdick Chesterland, Ohio; and four sisters: Marilyn (Rick) Scarpine, Fredonia N.Y., Cindy (Brad) Hall, Mayville N.Y., Martha (Rick) Burdick, Mayville N.Y., and Melissa Pillsbury, Jamestown N.Y.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Kenneth (1981) and Teresa (2012); maternal grandparents, Richard and Henrietta Lahey; and paternal grandparents Ross C. and Edna Frost Burdick
