Thomas John Hornyak ‘‘Tom’’

He was born Sept. 24, 1953, to John and Dorothy Hornyak in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Tom graduated from Arlington High School, Lagrangeville, N.Y., in 1971 and received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Western New England University in 1978. He married Charlene L. Herzberger on June 14, 1986, in Toledo, Ohio. Tom and Charlene celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this past June.

Tom is survived by his wife, Charlene; and daughters: Hillary and Han-nah.

He was predeceased by his father John; mother, Dorothy; and sister, Gail.

Tom worked at MRC/ SKF Bearings as a manufacturing engineer for 14 years. He also worked at several other companies in Jamestown, N.Y., and Erie, Pa. Tom was a conscientious engineer, loved classic cars, and enjoyed spending time with his daughters at 4-H events. Tom was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. He relished listening to music and had an appreciation for the outdoors.

A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 14, at 1 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown, N.Y. Enter the doors facing Sixth Street and the service will be held in Bellinger Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions towards Tom’s daughters college costs are gratefully accepted.
