Shirley Marie Jimison

Shirley Marie Jimison passed peacefully from the presence of her husband of 52 years, Ralph B. Jimison, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 20, 2021.

Shirley was born Aug. 23, 1948, in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late Lloyd and Ursula Gage.

She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and very active in music programming and a member of the A Cappella Choir.

Additionally, she received her associate degree before becoming a graduate of the nursing pro-gram at Jamestown Community College. Later in life, she owned and operated her own Healthcare business, training CNA’s and healthcare assistants with in home patient care.

She was employed at WCA Hospital and Visiting Nurses Association in Jamestown, N.Y. Shirley spread joy and love effortlessly to the lives she touched. She had a devotion to her patients that was only rivaled by the fierce love she had for her family.

Shirley was a long- standing member of Levant Wesleyan Church. She shared her passion for God and spread his love and forgiveness with her beautiful singing voice and through numerous speaking engagements. Shirley was a dedicated advocate for the unborn throughout her life, founding The Choose Life Organization helping numerous women. She was also a member of The Pro-Life Alliance and Christian Women’s Group. Shirley selflessly contributed to missions, spreading the Gospel of Christ by traveling to many countries including China, Peru, and Africa.

She loved the outdoors and had a passion for gardening, hiking, camping, and sewing. She also en-joyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States and overseas, visiting many beautiful countries. They would often visit family in Ger-many and experienced many scenic cruises along the way. They enjoyed their cabin in the woods in Western New York, building many memories with their family and lifelong friends. In the late 90s they moved from NYS to Vero Beach, Fla.,, eventually settling in Bonita Springs, Fla.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Gage in 1998 and Ursula Gage in 1988. Shirley is survived by her husband, Ralph Jimison; daughter, Erica Jimison-Marin (Roberto), sister, Karen Gage Mott (David); and grandchildrern: James Brown, Andrew Brown, Chloe Jimison-Marin, Rachel Harrington (Travis), and Shawn Marin; as well as four great-grandchildren.
