Dorothy A. (Morrison) Wescott

DUNKIRK — Dorothy A. (Morrison) Wescott, daughter of the late Dallas Moses Morrison Sr. and Ellen M. (Hanlon) Morrison of Conewango Valley, N.Y., was born March 18, 1950, in Gowanda, N.Y. Formerly of Perrysburg, she passed away at the age of 71, on Saturday, July 17, 2021. at the Dunkirk Rehab Center.

Dorothy was a 1970 gra-duate of Pine Valley Cen-tral School. She worked as part of the high school janitorial and sanitation staff as well as a student book keeper. She also worked at the canning factory and Super Duper in South Day-ton. She also spent many years working alongside her late husband, Jim, at their family’s electrical business in Perrysburg.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Morrison; her husband, James R. Wescott, whom she married in 1975, who preceded her in 1997; and two brothers: Douglas Steven Morrison and David Allen Morrison.

She is survived by her mother, Ellen Morrison of Conewango Valley, N.Y.; her daughter, Tracy (Brian M.) Schaber; two grandchildren: Brian James Schaber and Hannah Lynn Schaber of Greenfield, Wis.; her two brothers: Dal-las ”Butch” (Cora) Morris-on of Conewango Valley, N.Y., and Gary Morrison of Conewango Valley, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a life member of the Perrysburg No. 1 Fire Company since 1980 and served as secretary for several years. She was also a trustee and served as deputy mayor for the Village of Perrysburg.

She loved reading books, painting, and doing cross stitch. Her favorite pastime was doing genealogy for the Morrison, Hanlon, and Wescott families.

As per Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services held at this time. A private gathering of family may be held at a later date at the Rutledge Cemetery, Seager Hill Road, Conewango Valley, N.Y.
