Corabelle Baker

HAMILTON — Corabelle Baker, 86, of Edumar Lane, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at University Hospital, Syracuse as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born March 16, 1935, in Axeville, N.Y., a daughter of the late Sidney L. and Fannie Braley Newton and graduated from Randolph Central High School. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Carlton W. Baker in Randolph, N.Y., in 1953. He passed away Nov. 11, 2002.

Corabelle enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed being a pastors wife and teaching piano lessons.

She was a member of the Open-Door Baptist Church, New Woodstock.

Surviving are her children: Paul Baker of Jamestown, Diane and Jeffrey Peterson of Elgin, Ill., Amy and Wayne Bellinger of Orlando, Fla., Cindy and John Graham of Georgetown; her grandchildren; Katie (Andrew) Schubert, Sidney (Teresa) Graham, John (Gabrielle) Graham, Joshua (Jennifer) Baker, Kristina (Chad) Howard, Andrew Baker, Dakota Baker, Michael (Miranda) Peterson, Joel (Heather) Peterson, Daniel (Sophie) Peterson, Brittany (Vincent) Jones, and Joseph Bellinger; great-grandchildren: MaryEllen, BlakeliAnne, Jasper, Jethro, Jackson, Madison, Braxten, Peyton, Aleyah, Emma, Marleigh, Shae, Mollie, Mason, Chloe, Jaden, Ellieann and Bella; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by and an infant son, James Paul Baker in 1954; two sisters: Evelyn Barker and Betty Remington; and two brothers: Clair and Leland Newton.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, from the Open Door Baptist Church, Woodstock, N.Y.

Additionally, there will be a funeral service at noon on Saturday, July 31, 2021, from the First Baptist Church, Randolph, N.Y., and the family will be greeting friends from 11 a.m., to noon prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Steamburg Cemetery.
