It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Robert Lamper, 86, announces his passing on June 14, 2021 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. Jerry died peacefully after several months of declining health with his family at his side.
Jerry was born Feb. 8, 1935, to the late Claire and Alma Lamper of Kane, Pa. He relocated to Jamestown, N.Y., as a young man where his strong work ethic eventually led him to become the purchasing agent for Ethan Allen Furniture in Mayville, N.Y., where he worked until retirement.
Jerry loved sharing the outdoors with his family, spending much of his recreational time with them fishing, hunting, camping, boating, snowmobiling and gardening. He moved to Mooresville, N.C., in 2015 to be close to family.
He is survived by his two daughters: Vicky (David) Butler of Mooresville, N.C., and Laurie (Vincent) Salerno of Lake Winnebago, Mo.; sister, Sandra (Donald) Olekszak of Gibsonia, Ps.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and his son, Jerry R. Lamper Jr. of Jamestown, N.Y.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held privately by his family on June 19.
