Troy D. Taylor

Troy D. Taylor, 65, of Woodcrest Avenue, Lakewood, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, on Fairmount Avenue, Jamestown, N.Y.

Troy was born on Sept. 7, 1955, in Corry, Pa., the son of the late Donald O. Taylor and Marion Nichols Taylor of Jamestown, N.Y.

Troy graduated from Academy High School in Erie, Pa., in 1973. He earned his associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College and earned his bachelor’s degree from New York State University.

Troy was previously employed at the Child Protective Services in Warren County for several years. He was currently assistant general manager of the Tanglewood Manor and the director of administration at Tanglewood Manor. He was employed with Tanglewood Manor for many years.

Troy enjoyed golfing and being outdoors. Troy’s family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. Troy was a caring and compassionate man and he will be missed by many people.

Troy Is survived by his mother, Marion Nichols Taylor of Jamestown, N.Y.; his son, Troy P. Taylor and his significant other, Angela Leach of Randolph, N.Y.; two brothers: Brian J. (Kim) Taylor of Jamestown, N.Y. and Gilbert W. Taylor and his fiance Julie Bell of Fredonia, N.Y.; three sisters: Marie J. Austin of Jamestown, N.Y., Amy D. Taylor of Sacramento, CA and Tina C. Taylor of Jamestown, N.Y.; two grandsons: Julian C. Taylor and Gavin M. Richardson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his dad, Troy is preceded in death by three sisters: Lisa A. Taylor, Gina D. Larvick and Deborah B. Taylor.

Troy’s family suggest memorial contributions to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.

Family and friends may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home Inc., 316 East Fifth Street, Jamestown, NY 14701 on Tuesday, May 11, from 4-6 p.m. A private funeral service will be held for his family. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, N.Y. Face coverings and social distancing will be required.
