Barbara J. Miller

Barbara was born Dec. 9, 1942 in Miami, Fla., to Robert and Zelma Miller. She last resided several years in Jamestown, N.Y., with two of her sons: Antoine and Jeffrey; and many grand and great-grandchildren. Barbara was also a long-time resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., where she and longtime partner, Leroy Powell had seven children: Antoine, Lenell, Jeffrey, Scott, Ronald, Roy and Christopher Miller.

Barbara was a homemaker and she loved her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, with plenty of delicious soul food. Barbara loved music and could sing with the angels. She always thought of others and was big on birthdays.

She leaves behind, children; Antoine (Nicole) of Lakewood, N.Y., Jeffrey (Rachael) of Jamestown, N.Y., Scott of Bronx, N.Y., and Roy of Bronx, N.Y.; sister, Carolyn of Jamaica Queens, N.Y.; niece, Angela of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nephews: Lamont of Westchester County, and Kevin of Brooklyn N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by parents, Zelma (Cullum) and Robert Miller; longtime partner, Leroy Powell; sister Francis Miller; children: Lenell, Ronald and Christopher Miller.

A memorial for Barbara will be held at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home on May 12, 2021. Services will be from 2-5 p.m. Sermon will be performed, with great appreciation, by Pastor Gus Carpenter, with Perhaps Today Ministries.
