William A. Tota

A lifelong area resident, he was born 1942 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Anthony J. and Charlotte Caines Tota.

Bill was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his degree in pharmacy from the University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy.

Before his retirement in 2009, he was the chief pharmacist at the former WCA Hospital, (UPMC Chautauqua) for 43 years.

He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Chautauqua County Corvette Club.

Bill was the ultimate husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren, attending their many events. He will be remembered as one who enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also had a keen interest in cars and was a gifted wood-worker, making many beautiful pieces for his family.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Beverly H. Cheney Tota, whom he married August 5, 1967, his four children, Daniel (Linda) Tota of Jamestown, Megan (Steve) Destro of Lockport, NY, Scott Tota of Jamestown, Michelle (Timothy) Loucks of Lockport, seven grandchildren, Helena (Tommy) DestroPericak, Jared Destro, Jake (Abby Anthony) Tota, Geoffrey Tota, Brea Tota (Cade Poston), Luke Tota, Cooper Loucks, 2 step grandchildren Daniel Courtney, Allie Courtney, and two great grandsons, Landon and Colton Tota.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
