Viola E. “Swede” Carlson
Viola E. “Swede” Carlson, 96, of the Lutheran Home, formerly of South Maple Street, Ashville, died Friday April 16, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Jamesway as the manager of the sporting goods department. Following retirement, she worked for Wegmans as a food sample server.
She was an avid gardener, bowler and tennis player.
Friends and family have fond memories of gatherings on her front porch.
Surviving is a daughter Cynthia Rubin and her husband, Larry of Chatsworth, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Carlson in 2005; and a son, Gary Carlson in 2003.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
