Stephen Robert Holland

Stephen Robert Holland, 70, of Mayville, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2021.

He was born Nov. 11, 1950, in Fillmore, N.Y., the son of the late Robert and Helen (Benjamin) Holland.

Steve is survived by his wife, Julie (Ward) Holland; and daughters: Allison and Sara Holland.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Holland; and a sister, Roberta Ashcraft.

Steve graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked for many years in procurement at manufacturing companies such as Power Lawnmower, Trucklight, Bush Industries and he retired from Inscape Corporation.

Steve was a member of Army National Guard, and retired as a lieutenant after 14 years of service.

Steve served as a volunteer fireman in the Egypt, N.Y. fire department for many years.

A strong patriot, whose love for country never waivered. There was always a flag flying at home and he always took the opportunity to discuss politics with those willing.

Steve was a diehard New York Yankees fan and a devoted Buffalo Bills fan. He loved landscaping and was an avid golfer and lately had taken up pickle ball. His love of the Bills remained strong even after attending each of the Bills four consecutive losing Super Bowls.

In recent years, Steve has spent much of the “off seasons” in Florida lowering his handicap, enjoying the sun and making new friends.

During summer Steve spent much of his time mowing grass near Chautauqua Lake as well as mowing the grass on Chautauqua Lake for the Chautauqua Lake Association.

Friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, N.Y., on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 3-4 p.m., where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Masks are required for all to attend.
