Emilia Ruiz-Stroth

A lifelong area resident, she was born Aug. 30, 1977, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of Raul and Iris Morales Ruiz.

Emilia was a 1995 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her associates degree from Jamestown Community College.

Before her illness, she had been employed as a computer technician at Libera, Inc. and had previously worked at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

Emilia was a member of the East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She will be remembered as a woman of faith who enjoyed life and had a big smile for everyone. She loved animals, especially her two dogs and spent time watching television.

Surviving are her parents, Raul and Iris Ruiz, with whom she made her home; her two daughters: Sydney M. Stroth and Isabella R. Ruiz, both at home; a sister, Nilda Ruiz of Buffalo, N.Y.; and her nephew, Trysten Ruiz of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Ruiz, who died Aug. 20, 2010.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

A celebration of life service for Emilia will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.
