Dixie L. (Pratt) Smith

She was born April 29, 1958, to Howard Pratt and Betty (Craig) Walker. Dixie was a graduate of Sherman High School.

She loved to garden, especially planting flowers in her garden beds around her home. Dixie also loved decorating her home for holidays, making candles, collecting frog and bear decor for inside and outside of her home, hosting family and friends (while always providing homemade meals and snacks), and playing with her granddogs: Lenox and Molly. Dixie was fond of beach vacations, and loved laying in the sun listening to the ocean. Above all, she always put family and friends first.

Dixie is survived by: her husband, Lyndon Smith; two sons: Brett and Brad Smith; siblings: Dawn (Ron) Miller, Dan Pratt (Brenda Jordan) and Debbie Pratt; sister-in-law Kathy (Bill) Francis; nieces and nephews: Erin Delbasty, Jen (Heath) Foster, Jason (Alyssa) Pratt, Aaron (Mary) Milks, Ricky Pratt, Eric Francis, Ronald Miller and Derek Pratt.

Dixie is predeceased by her parents, Howard Pratt and Betty (Craig) Walker; and a brother, Dewey Pratt, who passed away in 1988.

Dixie was loved by so many and left a lasting impression that will live for-ever. Although she is no longer with us, her love, kindness, joy, loyalty and giving spirit will live on forever with her family, friends and all whom she came into contact with.

No prior visitation. A celebration of Dixie’s life will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 1-4 p.m., at the family residence, 111 Osborne Street, Sherman, N.Y.
