Wayne F. Powell

Wayne F. Powell, 70, of Kennedy, passed away Tuesday (March 23, 2021) in his home after a long illness.
He was born June 18, 1950, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late A. Lloyd and Cora M. Weiler Powell-Sprague.
Wayne was a graduate of Falconer High School and was employed by Art Metal Manufacturing, Frank Marsh Farms, Frank Walker Farms, Falconer Plate Glass, Flickengers, Interstat Battery, AIM Trucking-hauling Bush Furniture componets and most recently Brigiottas Farmland Stores. He drove semitruck for the last 43 years & thousands of miles. Wayne loved deer hunting, NASCAR and talking politics, trips to Myrtle Beach, parades, car shows and county fairs.
He is survived by his wife Sarene Olsen Powell whom he married May 24, 1969 in Levant Wesleyan Church; two sons: Sean W. Powell of Kennedy, NY, Terrance A. (Denise) Powell of Kennedy, NY; four grandchildren: Brandon Powell, Samantha Powell, Owen Powell, Ayden Powell; siblings: Thomas L. Powell of Frewsburg, NY,; Paulette J. Joslyn of Bemus Point, NY; Nathan N. (Amy) Powell of Lancaster, NY; Raymond E. (Janet) Powell of Falconer, NY; Karen R. (Dan) Schroder of Sincalirville; also, many nieces and nephews and cousins. Wayne will also be missed by his cat Milo.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by three brother-in-law’s Dan Joslyn, Charles Harding, and William Morton; a sister-in-law Jeanne Powell, and his cousins Ronnie Powell, and Lori Wellman.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday March 26, 2021, in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Herdzik will officiate. Burial will be in Levant Cemetery.
Due CDC requirements and COVID-19 regulations face masks and socially distancing will be required.
Friends will be received by the family Friday from 10-11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
