Carl E. Christensen

Carl E. Christensen, 88, of Chula Vista, Calif., passed on Feb. 6, 2021, at Sharp Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Jamestown, one of six children of the late Morris and Marie Christensen.

Carl graduated from Jamestown High School in 1950 and spent 28 years in the United States Air Force before going to college to get his Associates Degree and working for the Veteran’s Administration as a Benefit’s Counselor. He survived his wife of 45 years, Delores Christensen (passed in 1994), who he met and married while stationed at USAF boot camp in Denver, Colorado. Together they raised five children: Christy, Steven, Donna, Terri, and David.

He loved the sport of golf and enjoyed playing and watching it. A sports fan all around, he coached and refereed youth games when his sons were young. A patriot he served during both the Korean and Vietnam wars, earning a Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star.

He is survived by his three daughters, Christy Anderson of Athens, Ala., Donna Williamson of Chula Vista, Calif., and Terri Christensen of Coral Springs, Fla; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; Also surviving are two brothers, Richard (Dick) Christensen of Tucson, Ariz., and Robert (Bob) Christensen of Jamestown. Also, surviving is his wife, Myrna Christensen, of 20 years from Chula Vista, Calif.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded by his two sons Steven Christensen of Bryan, Texas, and David Christensen of Lexington, Ky., also preceded by three brothers, Donald, Albert, and Alfred all of Jamestown.

Burial was at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.
