Ruth E. Dean

A lifelong area resident, she was born June 20, 1961 in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Garland and Alice Haines Dean, Sr.

For many years Ruth took care of her many family member’s needs and will be remembered as one who loved to play bingo.

Surviving are a son, Todd (Kristie) Dean, a daughter, Jennifer Dean both of Jamestown, five grandchildren, Jasmine, Steven, Jonathan, Tayvin, Jaedyn, two step-grandchildren, Brantley and Bruce, a sister, Susan Shafer and her dear friend Dolly, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Gary, Garland Jr., Robert and George Dean, a sister, Judith Beardsley, a niece, Connie Shafer and her longtime companion, Richard Burch, Jr.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Carmen Perry, Hospice Chaplain will officiate.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home where social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn while inside the funeral home.
