Maj. Albert W. Sheldon

The son of predeceased Charlie and Thelma Sheldon of Cherry Creek, N.Y. One of five sons, two predeceased and two surviving.

He was a graduate of Pine Valley Central School in South Dayton, N.Y., in 1957. After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1983, working his way through the ranks from Private to Major, with tours in Vietnam, Japan, Europe and the U.S.

After retiring from the military, he worked for ADAP, Sanel Auto Parts, Bay State Floral Supply and AJ Carbone Floral Supply Co., which he finally retired from in 2018.

He is a lifetime member of Pine Valley VFW Post 2522.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel Sheldon and four children, Tammy and James Dutton, William Sheldon, Cindy and Ray Landry, Melissa and Emily Sheldon. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two brothers, David Sheldon, and Raymond (Margaret) Sheldon of Cherry Creek, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held for family only, at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to The Wounded Warrior Project. For our family in New York, we wish you will donate to the Scholarship of Maj. & Mrs. A.W. Sheldon at Pine Valley Central School.
