Sylvia S. Dick

Sylvia S. Dick, 79, of Sinclairville, N.Y., passed away at 2:57 a.m. Thurs-day, Jan. 14, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Gustav A. and Anita E. Bloomdahl Seastrom.

She was a 1959 graduate of Bemus Point High School and went on to at-tend the Weaver Airline School from 1959-1960 and worked for Eastern Airlines Communications in New York City. In 1998, she decided to further her education and enter the nursing field graduating from the BOCES School of Practical Nursing in 1999.

In earlier years, she was employed by the former Falconer Plate Glass for 28 years and later worked for several health care agencies as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She will be remembered as one who loved gardening, cooking and taking care of her home. She was also an avid reader and over the years had enjoyed traveling to many different places.

Surviving is a sister, Sharon Ferino of James-town, her nieces and nephews, Cynthia Manoc-chio of Frewsburg, N.Y., Katherine Mee of Falconer, N.Y., Shelly Ferino Stein of Jamestown, NY, Tracy Ferino of Phoenix, Ariz., Allen Seastrom, II of N.C., Matthew Heglund of Warren, Pa., two step-daughters, Valerie Wolfer of Arcade, N.Y., Carla Klein of Yorkshire, N.Y., several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. “Ziggy” Dick whom she married June 19, 1981, and who died March 1, 2015, and a brother, Allen “Jack” Seastrom.

In keeping with Sylvia’s wishes, a private service will be held at the con-venience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.

Inurnment for Sylvia and Ronald will be in the Lake View Cemetery at a later date.
