Joy E. Kapler

PALMDALE, Calif. — Joy E. Kapler, 76, of Moonlight Court. passed away Thursday morning (Nov. 26, 2020) at her daughters home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Olean, N.Y., on Dec. 4, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rhea (Light) Willetts of Niobe, N.Y.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded death by her infant sister, Beverly Ann Willetts; husband Raymond (LeRoy) Clark; her son, Gregory Clark; and daughter, Kelly Keller.

During her younger years she resided in Niobe, Cassadaga and Lottsville. She attended Panama Central School.

While in Pennsylvania, she worked at Blackstone, then the family moved to California in 1980 and there she worked at Edwards Air Force Base as entry control point and her final job was over-the-road-driver for Prime Inc. out of Springfield, Mo.

Her family includes two daughters: Janet Edwards, Palmdale Calif., and Johanna Doughtery, Waterloo, Ill.; a son in Oregon; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Haupin; and several nieces and nephews.

In the past ten years or so she became very active in the church and was working with residents in extended care facilities.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
