Rev. Reid Parker Minich

On Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, the Rev. Reid Parker Minich, 86, of Grand Rapids, Mich., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., went to be with his Lord, whom he faithfully served for nearly 40 years in Bangladesh. Reid dedicated his life to ministering to Bengali people whom he loved dearly. After retirement, he continued teaching to Internationals in the USA by offering English classes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Genevieve (Logan) Minich; siblings: Ruth (Art) Murfin, David Minich, Phyllis (Bob) Upper and Beverly Minich; nephews: David, Stephen, James, Benjamin, and Jeremy Murfin.

He is survived by his nephews: Arthur Murfin, Daniel (Dorothy) Murfin, Phillip (Mary) Murfin. Paul (Mary) Murfin; niece, Sara (John) Cushman; 10 great- nephews; and great- nieces.

A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Winegar Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Tuinstra officiating. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave., SW.
