Anna Margaret (Harper) Morley

Anna Margaret (Harper) Morley, 90, of Sinclairville, N.Y., passed away peace-fully Nov. 23, 2020, at Heritage Park following a short illness. Her family was by her side during her final days.

She was born March 28, 1930, in Charlotte Center N.Y., the daughter of Fred and Lois (Penhollow) Harper.

She was a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County graduating from Cassadaga Valley Central School in 1947.

She began working at the Chautauqua County Home shortly after graduation, starting in the dining room, working as an aide to pa-tients and in the office. She was an avid volunteer and employee of the Sinclair-ville Free Library working at three different locations holding positions on the board’s ways and means committee and being a part of the planning committee for the current location on Main St.

She was a lifelong member of Charlotte Center United Methodist Church, former member of the Ord-er of the Eastern Stars, former member of Char-lotte Center Cemetery Committee. She settled with her husband and chil-dren on the family farm in the early 1970s where she assisted with the day-to-day operations of the family dairy farm along with the annual gathering and pro-cessing of maple syrup.

She loved flower garden-ing with a special passion for her roses. Sunday dinner with the family al-ways included homemade pies and other baked goods. She was always baking and donating pies to the Sin-clairville Volunteer Fire Department for their chick-en barbecues and enjoyed helping with the annual Sinclairville History Day pie contest. As a book lover she had an extensive collec-tion with a fondness for cookbooks.

Surviving are a son, David F. (Linda) Morley, Cassadaga; two daughters, Susan A. Hover, Bemus Point and Judith Lynn (Michael) Porpiglia, Sin-clairville; three grandchil-dren: Ryan D (Loralee Hoelzle) Morley, Dunkirk; Adam S Hover, Bemus Point, Sarah A (Tyler) Lu-cius, Augusta GA; a great–grandson Flynn L. Morley, Dunkirk; a sister, Marjorie Scott, Sinclairville. Be-sides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Morley who she married on Oc-tober 22, 1949 and a broth-er, Henry Harper Sr.

Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Visi-tation 4-8 p.m. Friday. Burial in Charlotte Center Cemetery.

Due to COVID restric-tions, masks and social dis-tancing will be required. A celebration of life will take place at a later date when it is safer to gather.

The family suggests do-nations in Anna’s memory be made to Sinclairville Free Library, American Cancer Society, Hospice of Chautauqua County or Charlotte Center United Methodist Church.
