William E. Shreve

William E. Shreve, 65, of West Smith Street, Corry, Pa., passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa.

He was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Union City, Pa., a son of William O. Shreve of Panama, N.Y., and the late Mary Ellen Connor Miles and Elaine Shreve.

Bill was raised and educated in Panama, N.Y., and graduated from Panama Central High School in 1973. While in school, he was an honor student, football player and a marching band member. He also attended Panama Baptist Church. After graduation, Bill served in the U..S Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the area and pursued a career in capentry and became a master craftsman.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 365 in Corry and the Corry Central Labor Club. Bill was an outdoors man and loved fishing and hunting, barbecues, playing cards, and enjoyed billiard sports. He also enjoyed collecting small antiques and was an avid Steelers’ fan. Bill especially fellowship and gathering with friends, spending time with his son and volunteering for club activities.

In addition to his mothers, he was preceded in death by his former wife,, Karen Marie Lobdell; a sister, Valerie Shreve; a brother, Steven Shreve; and several aunts and uncles.

Bill is survived by his father; a son, Seth Shreve of Corry, Pa.; a sister, Terry Shreve of Oil City, La.; three grandchildren: Kalib Campbell, Cameron Shreve and Gavin Shreve; and several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
